This group is an interactive discussion circle for those interested in exploring in direct experience the true nature of the separate self we take for granted. Who are you at the source, prior to concepts? This identification is the source of much of our suffering.
We will start with a simple guided meditation to calm the mind followed by open discussion.
We may explore topics such as:
What is awakening? Self-inquiry, non-duality, consciousness, acceptance, and simply being present and OK, as it is.
Let’s explore the true nature of the self or “I”, as the “doer” of life from which many thoughts and emotions, and much of our suffering, seems to emanate.
There is no encouragement or criticism of any beliefs here, (non sectarian), but a reminder to look at what is “your” direct experience without concepts, stories, or beliefs, as it is.
Where do my thoughts come from?, Am I my thoughts? Am I aware of thoughts? Who is aware?
If any of this resonates, or even if it sounds interesting, confusing or just weird, come along and chat, question, or sit and observe.
We can learn from each other through interaction. Why not relax, and just allow open curiosity to look what is being experienced from a different perspective. “You” might feel different.
That’s life!
There are chairs provided. If you wish to bring a cushion to sit on the floor, feel free. Perhaps also bring water and any other personal needs.
Toilet facilities available.
