MACQUARIE BANK TO PHASE OUT CASH, CHEQUE AND PHONE PAYMENTS. WHO’S NEXT?
Banks have long made it hard to access our own cash, now one bank plans to get rid of its use altogether.
Macquarie Bank has announced that it will begin phasing out cash, cheques and phone payments for customers by the end of this year and move to “digital only” systems.
Adding ire to already disgruntled customers, it has also ended its partnership with NAB, which enables customers who are unable to access a Macquarie Bank branch, to use the NAB instead.
